Beginings

So today I have landed, and spent my first day up here. There are all kinds of side projects that will need to be finished up first before construction on the Yurt can begin. We have to build the walls for the changing room, Thea's house has walls of cord wood taht will need to be finished, wood is laying in a pile awaiting my hand and a saw, such that we have firewood to warm the water for showers... Mostly though materials will have to be gathered. Right now we have about 40 pallets. Sized at 42, 46 and 48 inches wide... I had no idea so many sized existed in the pallet world... Some sheets of ply-wood need to be found, insulation needs to be picked up next weekend, plastic for wrapping the walls, cement blocks for the foundation, and then wood chips to be used for the insulation of the walls... not to mention something to put it in so that chips don't all fall out... good thing we have all summer! Feelings of nervousness have subsided, and instead I'm just thrilled to be up here. My Ego tried to trick me into thinking otherwise, but for now it has been driven back into its place. So here are a few other ideas for pallets... some inspiration for those piles that might otherwise land in the local dump:
